The Expanse Season 4. That is the first season it was on Amazon rather than on SyFy. I suspect Amazon allowed it to be put out on CD provided that it was crippled somehow to force people who might want to stream their own copy to have to stream it off their service instead.

Do the S1-S3 sets work fine on a PC player?

I can only find info about Expanse S4 being release on BluRay,
not regular DVD.

If I put it in the DVD player on the XBOX, it will bring up
the menu and play every title.

I didn't realize that XBOX has dvd players. I thought that they
were just gaming machines that use cartidges or something.

If I put it in the player on the PC, it will not bring up
the menu, and I am only able to see and play the extras.

Suggestion: try the discs in a pc with an older dvd player. I
learned that some newer pc dvd players were intentionally
crippled to prevent the successful rip capabilities of early
software. My DvdShrink and SUPER are wonderful tools.

Maybe a universal dvd player that you can set to region 0 might
overcome the dilema.

I use my pc to convert the odd dvds that a friend might acquire
from the UK and make a copy that would play in region 1.
DvdShrink works really well with those too.

Yes. The also don't claim that they won't play in the PC player.

My last dedicated DVD player was a DVD-RW. It broke a long, long time ago. Otherwise I would be curious to find out if it will even play in that drive.

Part of the issue might be that the PC drive is a RW drive, too, although I have never used it to burn DVDs. I don't have a PC, or access to one, that
has a plain-jane read-only DVD drive.

too, although I have never used it to burn DVDs. I don't
have a PC, or access to one, that has a plain-jane read-
only DVD drive.

Try a friend's pc. Maybe they'll let you install a program that
ought to do the trick.

Not sure. I am not really a gamer. The only reason I have this XBOX (a
360) is because I won a raffle. IIRC, I was more interested in second
prize, but I don't remember what that was now. I have a game disc or two
but have not played them since shortly after I got the box (whenever the
360s were new).

I use it for playing DVDs and watching youtube (and some other stuff) on
the non-smart TV it is hooked to.

I would try it myself, but I see that product averages $50cdn
+$14 shipping + $10 import fee. That's an expensive experiment.

Ah.. so it works like a media player that supports an internet
feed?

I have a non-smart tv too. I don't have unlimited internet at my
house so a smart tv wouldn't be any good for me anyway - except
if I had a NAS with all the films I have over self-made DVDs and
files on USBs it would be nice to store all that in one place
and look it up with a program from a media box. I only have a
little media player (it's only about 4"x4"x0.75") and supports
USB and SD devices. It has HDMI out but I can't get that to work
with my TV. So, I just use the older Composite out. Meh. Good
enough for the 32" TV.
