• Iceape does not play facebook videos

From Gilberto F da Silva@2:250/1 to All on Wed Jul 8 16:37:19 2020
Iceape does not play facebook videos. I don't know why Seamonkey changed
its name to Iceape in Mageia. I am obliged to use another browser to
    view facebook videos.

Gilberto, SeaMonkey did not change its name to Iceape. SeaMonkey is
still available from https://www.seamonkey-project.org/ with the various
OS versions being available from https://www.seamonkey-project.org/releases/

Iceape is a fork off SeaMonkey .... I'm not quite sure why the fork
    occurred!

In Debian there was a firefox fork. The problem was that something was copyrighted. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mozilla_software_rebranded_by_Debian#Iceweasel

I actually use Linux. Unfortunately Linux has some boring things. At any moment there is someone wanting to reinvent the wheel. With each
fork there are fewer people to maintain the programs. Iceape is out of
date. I get messages that facebook will no longer work with it.

Sometimes a fork means no more than a rebranding. I got a fresh
copy of SeaMonkey yesterday so you might want to look around, IceApe may
have a fresh version of SeaMonkey so produce a updated copy of its
product. I still have to try SeaMonkey out and see if the updates will
let it work on Jitsi meetings. Debian would not go along with Mozilla's requirements so renamed its browser but used Firefox and did not even
clean up the in-program, references to Firefox. I think they have
    reached an accommodation currently.

Since Debian and Mozilla settled their differences, Debian has ceased development of Iceape. They now use the Seamonkey name again.

Around the same time, because of a lack of packagers/maintainers, both
Iceape and Seamonkey were dropped from the Mageia distro. You won't find either in the Mageia 8 (Cauldron) repositories.

You can still find Iceape in the Mageia 7 repositories because Mageia
has a policy of not removing any packages from the "release" repos once
    the release becomes "official."

I installed Seamonkey with the file downloaded directly from his website. It is not packaged but the installation was simple. I will try
to use Cauldron because I believe I can contribute a little to the distribution by reporting problems. The subject of the iceape is clarified.
