Hello all, I want setup Fidonet for my Amiga BBS again, I used TrapDoor back in the days, but TrapDoor can only handle modem calls.
What can i use to fetch and send Fodonet mails that use TCP/IP connections?

I have everything else configured for Fidonet in the BBS software but I can not send/recieve mail.

I think I mentioned this to you earlier but I only use the Amiga sida for the reading/writing of FidoNet. The mailer and the tosser I run in Linux. Since I'm not running a real hardware Amiga but an emulator in Linux this is pretty stratightforward since the Linux side and Amiga sida have a shared filesystem.

When using a real Amiga you might be able to accomplish something similar by using a network file system or some other mechanism to transfer files between Linux and Amiga.

For TrapDoor you might be able to use telnetd.device (just like NiKom does). This should work at least for incoming connections. Outgoing connections might be trickier..

There is also AmiBinkd but from what I've heard it's very unreliable and causes crashes not just in itself but also in other programs that run on the same machine.

As tosser I use CrashMail. It has been abandoned by the original developer but I have cloned it on GitHub and made a few fixes.

Seems like I miss something to compile it, in every output when running make I get the error "cc -Wall -Werror -Wno-deprecated-declarations".

I think I manage to compile it, the binary files are in /usr/bin but I can't find the .prefs files? They exist in the compile folder but nowhere else.:

Ok....but that is not the biggest problem for me right now, I suspect you see my Swedish letter in my name is not correct. I try to setup binkd so I can get Fidonet back to my BBS.
Yes I write in Thunderbird right now until I can get binkd and everyting to work.

I never used it myself, but what I understand from others who did: you need to increase the stack size for this program, to get it to function more stable...

Yes I know, ( stack 50000 ) but AmiBinkd want to use AmiTCP, since the BBS and Amiga system right now is running on FS-UAE in Linux and using bsdsocket.library and the telnetd.device for the BBS software for connections.

I've noticed your posts in the BINKD area. It should be a problem. I've always compiled mine myself. I use it without the perl dependency, because I don't need it:

I got the latest version as a binary, works like a charma, now the rest is to setup the BBS side and see if binkd can cooparate with the TrapToss software for Amiga.
