Why is this message in this area?

    Because it wants to be.

I missed this one. I haven't noticed any of those since the early 2000's ... or should I say the early 100's?

Not really surprising to see given the two digit year crap that still exists. It *must* die a horrible death methinks and should have happened over 20 years ago. What a total load of 16-bit DOS-think crap. :::sigh:::

    Hey Wilfred!

It seems more like a mistake to me...

That is what I have been saying all along ... except about the date thing and not the misplaced posting to this particular echoarea. From my understanding nothing is out of place in this echoarea whereas a highly corruptable date string has always been a BIG mistake no matter where it is posted. Given this then I'd also like to point out this makes the subject "Updated BBS" a tad suspicious as to accuracy.

    BBS_ADS For instance...

Would the MSG in question gotten a wider audience there? Also, perhaps more important, it seems that area might be a bit too narrow in it's scope to attract many users.

You seem to be connected to a very limited set of areas?

Yes indeed. I think there are far too many areas that could easily be encorporated into each other. For example I think the LINUX echoarea is enough coverage for all things linuxie.

Hard to tell, since I'm not connected to it ;), I can't compare seen-by's. Judgeing from messages posted in the STATS area it gets more traffic then this area though.

Also, perhaps more important, it seems that area might be a bit too
narrow in it's scope to attract many users.

But the users it attracts should be interested in it!

You seem to be connected to a very limited set of areas?

Yes indeed. I think there are far too many areas that could easily be encorporated into each other.

Probably. Yet people are still creating new areas, for the simple reason they think a particular subject should be covered in it's own area. They are not asking the questions if it maybe could be discussed in existing areas, and if it would attract enough discussion. (I'm guilty of that too ;-)).

For example I think the LINUX echoarea is enough coverage for all
    things linuxie.

    Indeed.

    Bye, Wilfred.

Lets see. Funding a family of 5 with 400$ a month (serious situation, federal/state aid kicking in but not fully until Feb). Been 3 months and 1 to go.

Working 2-4 VADM (Navy flag officer) tasks per week and it's NOT simple stuff done in 1 hour or less.

It's been keeping me off the BBS pretty much.
