Austrian Airlines removes virtually all seats from two Boeing 777-200ERs. These
can therefore be optimally deployed on freight flights between Asia and Europe, as normal passenger services are not offered due to the corona crisis.
In recent weeks, Austrian Airlines has operated approximately fifty freight flights from Xiamen, Shanghai and Penang to Vienna. The cargo was transported both in the cargo hold and on the seats. By completely removing 270 of the 306 seats, there is even more space in the passenger cabin.
The OE-LPA and OE-LPC are taken care of by Austrian Technik. Approximately 500 man-hours per aircraft are required for the conversion.
