As Jerry points out users interested in QWK Networking need to clarify whether they are talking about:General
1. Offline Reading of QWK Mail (OLX)
2. Hub to Hub / Hub to Node QWK Networking
DOVE-Net is a Synchronet centric QWK Network which does have some
Message Conferences
http://vert.synchro.net/msgs/subs.ssjs?msg_grp=DOVE-Net
Offline Mail reading and pulling mail using simple Telnet/FTP scripts is quite different to operating a QWK Network.

What I want to do is pull dove-net into my computer running win server 6.4 sorry I have been away from bbs's for along time now so I have slept since then and don't remember. I know I have to have my computer call another computer to download packets of dove-net. So do I have to make a batch file to do that? it needs to have my login info with it also. So I guess Im asking for a little help with maybe a example and instructons. Any help would be appreciated may even give a reward say 100.00 well maybe not. Money is hard to get now a days. Thanks Sam

First you create a Qwk account with Vertruen bbs. Name and login. Then create a batch file that has your login id and password in it and what message areas you want.server 6.4
give me email address and I will send a copy of my batch file to you.

If you don't mind I'd like to see a copy of your batch file, I have always wanted to try qwk myself but never have in all these years.

Hello Ruben
I figured it out and now am hooked up with a qwk mail network.
Thanks though for the offer to help.
I am wondering if anyone here could or would make a script or mod to call out Wildcat telnet outbound to pick up qwk mail.
I or anyone would then be able to edit/add the telent address the login name and password and then the keys to go to the message menu and then the qwk menu it would then auto upload the rep and download the qwk packet and put it in the WC5-7\qwk\in folder.
Thank you
Greg Youngblood
If you just want to be a Node connecting to a particular Wildcat! hostto
Upload REP and Download QWK Packets then you can use Telnet scriptingwhich
is made easier if you use the Wildcat! fast login option [!] andenhanced
scripting prompts.match
The problem is that Telnet scripting works on the basis of
Read Data
Write Data
Read Data
Write Data
...
So if a Wildcat host has modified their screens/prompts you need to
your script to work with the site specific customization.of:
In the real world the Read Write Data equates to scripting in the form
expect [wait x]suitable as
output
Within established private Wildcat! QWK Networks FTP is used to overcome
the Telnet scripting limitations.
You can use any Telnet scripting language you want. Netterm is probably
the most popular.

Again just keep in mind that FTP and Telnet scripting is a non-compliant basic method suited to simple Node to Hub requirements, its not
a model for running a QWK Network.
Hello Mike
I'll look into it, thanks for the info!

Basically, you've got 3 steps. Really easy once you know how. Either create a quick script for ftp to download the QWK packet and upload the .REP, or use IFTP or IREXW setup to handle your downloading. Use WCQWK
to import the mail. Synchronet uses mail groups in the 1000's. eg.
your first message group is 1000, second is 20000. Dovenet is
unfortuantly hard-coded to a different set of numbers, so you either
need to look into synchronet bbs's cfg or find the text file that tells
you what the numbers are... Though I've gotta warn you, I've found the numbers don't always match up to the text file like they're supposed to
be!
I'm not sure why you are posting to me?. Were you trying to contact the OP SAMPEN?
