    I don't like the # symbol for that purpose. It's the start of channel names on irc, and is the start of comments character in a lot of programming and scripting languages.

    But if the tgm bot looks for a valid sequence "##cc:areaname##<CR>", for a total of 4 #'s including the trailing <CR>, then problem is solved.
