It's a space-waster, but a cool way to implement a modicum of
privacy between users if desired.
BTW.. you quoted back with CHARS UTF-8, and that failed viewing
it with the Telegram app, for me.

I don't know about privacy, but there probably are some
use cases where it could be usefull.

Sorry about that, it is sort of the default in my editors
config. I've never taken the time to look into it, to make
it operate better...
And it's also wrong because it should be 'UTF-8 4' instead
of 'UTF-8 2'...
What is it should mean? ;)
Hello Stas!
What is it should mean? ;)
It means that Jay got me started into a rabbit-hole of
experimentation and I can't climb out!

Interesting. OpenXP is handling the repeated quoting back and
forth OK. But your posts don't look right with the Telegram
app, and the quoted messages are broken via NNTP as well.

How do you see it used successfully?
I was thinking it would be OK for obfuscating the odd spoiler-alert or
an answer to a quiz. But that's about it, I think.

No control of charset per echo?

The bad news is that the message is not actually UTF-8 encoded.

Just remember that the transmission of encrypted mail
through nodes that did not consent to this can be regarded
as highly annoying behavior.

I read it easily in Thunderbird(koi8r). It cannot be read
in Android Telegram (QR code is distorted).

It's not an encrypytion. At best it is only an encoding.
Annoying? It's the 21st century man! :D
Let's get with the programme.
On with the show.
Onward and upward.
Perhaps BBSes can utilize QR codes to simplify some of the long multipart domain addresses they need to use to promote their
systems?
