I hope all is well with everyone.

I've been working remotely since March 16th, the kids (10 and 16) have been remote-schooling for about a similar time. My wife is also working from
home.

I work in tech, and 90% of my job I can do from anywhere with a network connection. I used to joke that people would send me chat messages from
across the room when they could walk over and have a conversation. I guess
I'm old school that way.

We're lucky that the kids have their own spaces, my wife and I have separate dedicated office spaces, and we have the ability to go outside with a deck
in the front and the back.

The kids are going stir-crazy; the 10 year-old definitely needs to get out
as much as possible, and my 16 year-old misses the social aspects of school and the one-to-one teaching.

School is definitely out for the year, and we're waiting to see what happens with summer camps. I think employers are going to have to be understanding
of schedules for parents trying to find care for their kids over the summer.

Other than that, we're employed, healthy, and spending a lot more time with the kids than we'd been given the opportunity to do before. So, there's
that.

the job loss & such...wonder how many people are going to lose everything
they have & just do a "Grapes of Wrath".

Still remember working PT cleaning out foreclosed houses in the early '90's
for the banks with a ministry doing this to give people a few bucks & such. With history repeating itself...was mowing yards as a summer job around 10 years ago to be able to keep the banks out of hot water by mowing the grass.

Both of you stay safe. There are times I have to keep remembering this will
be over one of these nights.

first thing i sourced today, when the lockdown somewhat was lifted.

Was in IT 20 years ago & was never able to work from home. They always wanted to see your face. After the economy blew up at the time...went back into commercial broadcasting for several years.

Very good for you!!! Working in retail in a multinational corporation where people buy stuff for their homes...have been asking myself how many of these
I see right now will lose it all by wasting their time/money because they
lost their job(s) or got over extended like 10+ years ago? In terms of myself...it's not bad right now...but I've been wondering when the boom is going to lower on me/those just like me? Thank god I own (paid cash back in 2017 new) a 50 cc scooter & have a roommate to help with having a decent place to live & such. It will be tough for me...but when the marriages break up...stuff goes into bankruptcy & such for the folks spending like there's no tomorrow...it's going to be way too late at that time...while I've been expecting it. Forgot to mention that I sock as much away as I can afford & still live great. Most of the tax refunds this year & that $1200 are sitting
in the bank with some of my peace of mind.

Now I've only got a few more years and it's paid off.
Then I can consider when to retire. :)

Very nice! You are one of the rare ones who seemed to have learned from the last time. Never figured out how people never seem to figure out this garbage runs in cycles & will make the same mistakes over & over again.

Pretty good here. Did you know that your Fido AKA is in your origin
line twice? You don't need to type it in there as your echomail
processor puts it there for you.

It's on your origin line. You can check your defailt origin line...

scfg -> Networks -> Fidonet EchoMail and NetMail -> Default Origin Line.

Your node number is added automagically so it doesn't need to be added there.

he means in this line... not your signature... this one is the one the tosser adds... you don't need to put your address in it because the tosser does that automatically... at a guess, check your default origin line setting to see if you manually put the address in it... if so, remove it...
