I'm having a strange problem on my Mystic BBS. I am subbed to the UKRNEWS echo
and am receiving messages. I can view them from my news reader on
Android (which connects to my Mystic BBS), but when logged onto the BBS as my normal Sysop user, I am unable to see any of the messages. I've checked
echo permissions, file permissions, echo base settings, etc. Everything looks correct.
SO my question is, is there something special about UKRNEWS that makes it different from other echoes? By all accounts it should be working like all the other ones I'm subbed to.
When you hit 'R' in the message menu on Mystic it tells you how many messages there are (ie. 26). If you hit enter it brings up a list of the messages.I'm having a strange problem on my Mystic BBS. I am subbed to the UKRNEWS

I haven't noticed any issues here.
What do you mean "I am unable to see any messages"?

It doesn't do that in any other echo, just UKRNEWS. So currently, the only way to access the messages is from my news reader.

I don't think there is anything special about the area. It is a new
area in the last month or so. I haven't had issues here or on a MBSE
BBS I also have here.

Would like to host them but cannot find a real feed for them.

I know this probably isn't the answer, but Mystic has different access levels in each echo or message base, you can have different access levels for all options such as READ, LIST, VIEW, POST, etc. For instance my FIDO echo's all have regular access to list and read, but only users with legit real names (which is a separate access level on my BBS) can post messages, It could be something as simple as that.. :)
The first messages that flowed in the UKRNEWS area had the private bit set. On a Mystic BBS no could read those messages unless your name was
in the TO: or FROM: in the header, very unlikely.. :)
That has since changed and messages flowing in the area don't have the private bit set anymore.
