Yep that sounds right to me also.
He posted on the website a month or so ago that it was being shuttered but
may return in some guise down the track a bit..

the owner posted that they shut it down after (IIRC) 20someodd years... you might try contacting andrew clarke directly and see what he has to say... he's listed in the nodelist as operator of "Blizzard of Ozz", 3:633/267...

I alwas had mixed feelings about ozzmosis. Yes, sometimes it is an easy way to retrieve something someone said. OTOH, I do not like my Fidonet postings to be out on the internet readable by all. Only difference now is that a user has to login to a BBS using the web interface to see the same messages. My Wildcat system supports this plus I
have a guest account so a guest user can log in as guest and can read most echoes but of course no write access.

I don't see a problem with this, idea is a guest user may then be interested
in joining to get full access.

Just to second this. The draw for me for Fidonet is that it is a place (potentially) beyond Google's web-crawlers. It is valuable to have places to exchange ideas, using a computer, which don't involve the web - and ideally the internet.

Big caveat - I'm a newbie, learning the ropes, so this is based on a position ofcomparative major ignorance of fidonet history/technology. No offence intended!
