"Dumb" question coming up :)
How did you manage to insert a subject line in a *new* message with the Telegram app?

Not dumb at all. All I simply did there was type in
"Testing from Telegram." and hit send. It used the same
line of text for both the subject and message body.
(And I have to translate in my head that TG = Telegram and
not Telegard) ;)

I still haven't figured out how to use the TGID for netmails yet.

I am sure Stat could adapt the Telerame gate to utilize
something like "[key]" tags in the body of the messages to be
used for specific things on the FTN side, if he wanted.
[s] = Subject

If the message, or quoted message, does not contain the line "--Subj: Message subject--", ending with a line feed, then the first forty characters of the message are taken as a subject.

Just send a netmail message to: <TGUID>@2:460/58

;)
Let's use TgM?
How did you manage to insert a subject line in a *new*
message with the Telegram app?
Stas is a master programmer. ;)
For a new message that originates from the TgM side (except for
New User annoucements), he takes the first few words of the
first line of text.
If a TgM user uses the proper R)eply option, then the original
Subject line is maintained for the thread.
So, it would be a good idea to not start all new messages in
TgM with "Hi.." ;) ..and just get right to the matter and
describe the purpose/subject in the first sentence.
I'll try that later, stand by for a test shot :))
Neither have I and I'm having a hard time figuring out why anyone
would want to send a netmail with TgM when they have Fido software at their disposal.
Maybe I'm missing something?

Excellent opportunity for me to ask where is the message
list in TgM and how do we follow a thread in TgM?
Just send a netmail message to: <TGUID>@2:460/58
See my previus post and, in addition, how does one "see" the
TGUID kludge with TgM?
Incoming messages from the Fido2telebot are just one long scroll (and
not linked).

I am currently testing another way to send messages to Fido. Errors are possible. However, this method will allow to eliminate some of the limitations of the previous one and send messages to netmail.

For example, you received a message from Fido in Telegram and you want to answer it. Perhaps you are on the road or far from your computer and only Telegram is at hand, but you wanted to write a personal message.
However, I would need to know the value held in the @TGUID kludge data
but from what somebody else said in here, Telegram doesn't "see" it ??
