    Hey Yosemite!

    $ cat /proc/version
    Linux version 6.0.3 (root@motorshed) (gcc (GCC) 12.2.0, GNU ld (GNU Binutils) 2.39) #1 SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Mon Oct 24 03:50:15 UTC 2022

    $ cat /sys/class/graphics/fb0/virtual_size
    3840,2160

    Also getting the 16 bootup penguins using grub's x86_64-efi target;

    $ cat /etc/default/grub
    GRUB_DISABLE_LINUX_UUID=true
    GRUB_DISABLE_LINUX_PARTUUID=false
    GRUB_GFXMODE=3840x2160x32,2560x1440x32,1920x1080x32,1280x800x32,1024x768x32,800x600x32,auto
    GRUB_GFXPAYLOAD_LINUX=keep
    GRUB_TERMINAL_OUTPUT="gfxterm"

    It works for other resolutions, or at least 720p and 1080p.

    What more is there?

    Life is good,
    Maurice

    Hey Benny!

    not on gentoo yet

    Probably soon since kernel.org has EOL-ed the 5.19 branch.

    $ cat /sys/class/graphics/fb0/virtual_size
    3840,2160

    i get 1920,1080 there

    Same with the node which is wired via hdmi cable to a 7" 1080p field monitor. Also only 4 penguins.

    is 640x480x16 missing or just to old ?

    I haven't had one of those for ages now. Even back in 1995 1024x768x16 would have been more common than 640x480x16.

    It works for other resolutions, or at least 720p and 1080p.

    wiz i had one :=)

    You have a 1080p which is the same as 1920,1080.

    snowballs to the penguins ? :=)

    We've been here before ...

    Hey Benny!

    Been there, done that.

    time for my bed now

    Sounds like a plan.
