That sounds like tobacco-free as well as smoke free... Hospitals and
medical buildings around here also have tobacco/smoke free zones for a
certain radius about the building and/or grounds....
Marshall is a urban campus with city sidewalks around the edges and
here and there. People can smoke in on those. One step this way and
its a no-no, one step the other way and its allowed.
The campus cops only enforce the ban if its blatant (walking though campus), or someone complains. But 99.9 per cent of the time by the
time they arrive the smoker is gone. And even if someone is caught in
the act they are told its not allowed and asked to put it out. No
fines, etc unless its a repeat violator. I don't know of anyone during the time I was there on a regular basis being fined.
