There are coal power plants along Lake Ontario in NY that use the lake to keep
their equipment cool, and the result is really warm water at the beaches near the power plants. I go there every summer and the water is ridiculously warm, even early in the morning. We should be harvesting that heat! Or at least the people who live near the lake should.
There are several nuclear plants along the Great Lakes for the same reason.
Either way, I would be concerned about getting in that water.
