Raspberry Pi Ltd did its IPO on the London Stock Exchange <
https://tech.slashdot.org/story/24/06/11/144251>. It’s not quite a billion-dollar company, but not far off.
The Linux-powered Pi family has sold 60 million units in the 12 years they
have been on the market. Not bad, eh?
The London Stock Exchange connection is also apt, because they quite
famously switched their trading system to Linux from Windows Server, after
some rather embarrassing failures with the Microsoft product (look up the
story of the “TradElect” system for more details).
