    I'm aware sexpots+zmodem is a no-no

I'm not sure what you're referring to here. Folks tranfers file via
ZMODEM through SEXPOTS connections every day.

Well, I read ZModem transfers weren't working, also I tried with icy term, logged in to the BBS, tried uploading a file and it never started I tried several times with differnet protocols but could never see the transfer happening so but if you could ellaborate a bit on your comment or share how is it setup it'd be great.

    Thanks

My comment is: SEXPOTS does not interfere with ZMODEM (or any other type of) file transfers. It's not a "no-no" as you put it. If you're having problems with file transfers, it's some other component of your system: likely the FOSSIL driver or other component not entering or supporting Telnet BINARY TX mode in one direction or the other or not escaping/unescaping the Telnet IAC character. SEXPOTS doesn't convert CR/LF or CR/NUL received via Telnet to CR (or vice versa), so BINARY TX mode has no effect and SEXPOTS always escapes IAC characters received from the serial/COM port/modem before sending to the Telnet server (when in Telnet mode) and performs the opposite translation for IAC characters received via Telnet.
