this has to do with how your modem/router is doing hairpinning... in
this case, it would be easier to add your domain to your terminal's
hosts file with the internal LAN ip... that way, the client terminal
will (properly) connect directly to your BBS and then its IP and name can/will be displayed as you desire...
FWIW: i removed that whole connection screen from my setup... it is
cool but so many sync systems have it and i wanted something different
;)
Hello All,
Upon connecting to my own system via telnet (over LAN), I see this:
CLIENT CONN: Telnet connection established at 30000 bps
ADDR: _gateway [192.168.1.1]
SERVER NAME: The Pharcyde located in Pewaukee, Wisconsin
ADDR: pharcyde.org available via Telnet, Web, FTP, and NNTP
NODE: 1 [of 7] Linux 5.6.13-arch1-1 x86_64
DATE: 05/16/20
TIME: 08:23 am Central Time
ADMN: Accession
Can the ADDR: part be changed up so that if you are in fact over a LAN, it could show the client's hostname rather than '_gateway'? At the moment it's just showing my router's IP address.

Normally, it would. It sounds like maybe your client is the other side
of a NAT from the BBS.
