• Synchronet as a door server question

I'm trying to setup Sync as a door server. The problem I'm having is in the FAQ for ity, it says use "terminal-type: strn=doorcode" but I'm not use what that part means. Anyone with a explanation? I have read and printed out the "Use Synchronet as a Door Game Server" text.

    Thanks,
    Richard.

The proper RLogin terminal-type syntax (to auto-start a specific door game) recognized by Synchronet is "xtrn=doorcode". This means that the the RLogin *client* must know the internal code of the door (external online program) of interest on the Synchronet door game server and specify that code after "xtrn=" in the terminal-type string sent by the RLogin client (or gateway) during RLogin connection negotiation. This is how the server knows which door to run automatically, without any user interaction (e.g. menu/prompt).

I have read and printed out the
"Use Synchronet as a Door Game Server" text.

What system are using as the RLogin client? If it's another Synchronet system being used as the RLogin client/gateway, then those instructions are providing in the "Gating" section of that same how-to page.
