From Deathspal@1:103/705 to All on Mon Mar 4 16:50:56 2024
Hi all, I am trying to import some old BBS file collection CDs I have and seem to be having no luck. I created a directory in SBBS called FileArea and coppied the contense of my CDs to it. I then set it as my file area location and it found the directories but added no files. (there are both FILES.BBS and FILE_ID.DIZ in most of the directories. So I tried the adfiles.js and it scans the directories but returns 0 files. Error example: Adding files to Main UTILS/TRANSL, !Failed to open: /FileArea/fileswalnutcrg38, 0 files added, /sbbs/repo/exec/addfiles.js executed in 2.22 second. I have verrified ownership and premissions. Am I runing up agains some long path issue? Thanks, DeathsPal - FOUR FLAGS BBS

The DIZ files should be *inside* the archive/files, not the directories themselves.

So I tried the adfiles.js and it
scans the directories but returns 0 files. Error example: Adding files to Main UTILS/TRANSL, !Failed to open: /FileArea/fileswalnutcrg38, 0 files added, /sbbs/repo/exec/addfiles.js executed in 2.22 second. I have verrified ownership and premissions.

    What's the addfiles.js command-line you entered, exactly?

Am I runing up agains some long path issue?

I doubt that is the probelm.

The DIZ files I saw were orignal they may have also existed in the archinves as well they are likely not revelevent since the error seems to indacate that the process failed to open the directory. the comman I used is as follows: ./jsexec addfiles -all (from the exec directory). Thanks -Al (DeathsPal)

I suspect your configuration in SCFG->File Areas is wrong. It sounds like maybe you overrode/changed the default "Data Directory" under "Advnaced Options" for one or more of your directories in SCFG. I suggest you change that back to the default ("data/dirs").
