My five would be:
Jeff
Well we all have 3-5 meals we can rely on and will go to for an easy
feed.
For me (these are so called dad meals) they would include
5. Fish and Chips
I will confess that the last one we go out to eat or bring home more
than make at home.
5). Can do a quick Cincinatti-Style Chilli that folks ask to take the leftovers wit them

1. Meatloaf and mashed potatoes with green or yellow beans.
2. Shepard's Pie
3. Hamburgers or Hot Dogs off the grill with bakes beans.
4. Spaghetti with garlic bread
5. Fish and Chips

than make at home.
Funny, I was just getting ready to comment on #5 ... I wondered how your home version compared? This is one of my all time favorites and
even if I could make it at home, I would probably still pay the
exorbitant price at a favourite local pub.
Okay - we are going to need a recipe section soon... lol
1.) Double Cheezburgerz
2.) Stir fry, very spicy, with any kind of meat or seafood.
3.) Pot roast - usually Chuck, with potatoes, carrots, celery, onjions, mushrooms, lots of garlic and other spices.
4.) Red beans - I make a few gallons when I do this, and freeze several court jars.
5.) Double Cheezburgerz! (Yeah, twice).
1). Anything I can cook on the grill
2). I can do a quick Indian Curry meal that gets high marks
3). Spanish friends taught me a great Tortilla/Fritata
4). I will do something in the multi-pot cooker like pulled pork or
roast beef
5). Can do a quick Cincinatti-Style Chilli that folks ask to take the leftovers wit them
6). If caught out for Breakfast, I can do a breakfast version of the Fritata, or something like Apfeldunkel (basically rings of apples in a pancake batter) on the quick. An old hunter showed me how to do great "Bullseyes" which are slices of bread with a circle cut out and filled with egg.
It would be fun to compare what you can but from your F&C shops over there. i.e. other menu items... and what is popular between our
countries.

Kick myself now - I hit a local Irish pub yesterday and ordered F&C. As
I stared at the menu, I thought of snapping a pic (for this reason),
and then dismissed the idea - HAH! Maybe next time.
We have an English-like "publick house" that sells itself on California- inspired pub food.
SALMON FISH AND CHIPS.
A crime against humanity.
Go Cod, go Haddock or go home.
place not to far
away from us the not only has excellent fish and chips but also a first rate ginger beer. (They have been in business for close to 50 years.)

That is so true. Salmon is good stuff, but it is not fish & chips.

HAH! Oh c'mon - deep-fried salmon is healthy!

Question: Is ginger beer ever served as a fermented bev? For that
matter, is any root beer? Is ginger beer considered a root-beer?

Like a deep fried Moro bar? :)

Basically anything that you can think of deep frying, and then some
things you'd never think of deep frying, you can get in a fish and chip shop in Glasgow or Edinburgh. Wash it down with some Irn Bru and life
is good (until you die young from corotted arteries!).
But what a way to go! ;) You could deep fry an old shoe and I'd probably eat it! LOL
