Thanks. Must have done something right.

Hi, this is my first post from the DC2Daylight BBS. I'm watching the Mystic Guy videos :)
My hope is to turn this into a collection point for all things Ham Radio, from DC to Daylight!

Hello fsxnet world.
I'm Jim/spaceman and Im coming to you live from St. Louis MO, USA via midnight coffee bbs. Its a work in progress (aren't they always?) with
a focus on the intersection of machine learning and security.
I spent a large amount of time in my youth calling, hosting and working
on bbs's, bbs software and participating in a number of early echo networks. I'm enjoying the push for more federated capabilites these
days - and am hopeful that this format (or a derivative) will gain more
of a foothold, as we (re)learn how important community is as a species. Particularly excited about the current work to get enigma connected to mastodon.
Super glad to see both mystic and enigma under active development and am looking for ways to participate and support this and these communities at large.
Thanks in advance for your patience as I re-familiarize myself with the tech and space.

There's also Synchronet, Nugax is working on CyberBBS and Apam

Not really on a break, just not very motivated :)
Been busy in Second Life, having fun making virtual cars (amoungst other things).
I have NNTP setup on my BBS for me to use, but it's read only, so I tend to browse the messages (when checking email) and not write them, as to do that I need to log on.
I'm not all that keen on writing NNTP write support.

Me too! And it's interesting to see what ways all this will evolve. Although there was something special with dial-up. =)

Oh for sure - I have a backlogged "useless random project" to do one of those serial->tcp modem rpi with soundeffects and das blinkenlights in
an old usr courier shell to go directly back to 1991 :)

Is this still a thing? I never joined or played it, maybe it's time to catch up. I remember the times when every big company had to create a presence in Second Life, because it seemed to be the next big thing. And the whole architecture behind it sounded very interesting and open.
I used to use Second Life quite a bit for a few years after I heard
about it in 2006. I haven't really played it in years though. I'd
heard it's not as busy as it used to be though.

Greetings everyone. Hoping this messages reaches you all. Coming back to the BBS scene after nearly 20 years. I must say a lot has changed, but
it also feels somewhat familiar. Looking forward to the journey!

Few days ago I got a crazy idea to run a BBS.
From one thing to another, here I am writing messages to
unknown people. :-)
Besides working on my BBS, I'm working on few more things in my spare time: - 8-bit microcomputer: http://x65.zone/
- An Operating System: http://github.com/D-os/
You can find me on FediVerse: @smoku@vivaldi.net

I wish FSX_TST existed...
Test messages, especially from new users flying 1/999 are allowed in FSX_GEN.
Test messages, especially from new users flying 1/999 are allowed in
FSX_GEN.
Where does it say that, exactly?
Test messages are not encouraged or discouraged in FSX_GEN as far as I know.
FSX_TST - Test messages and other experimentation is welcome here! Messages using the subject of 'Test' *should* receive an automated response
from a roBOT. Humans can also appear magically with reports too.

I'm running under Linux using the docker a Ubuntu 16.04 container. Why 16.04? so the dosemu version is something compatible with the door
games and that they run.
