disappearing or planning on going anywhere or things like that. Work during lockdown has been pressured and I've been stuffed at the end of most days.
I'm in the final hour of my 'paid' work day and had enough of it so sneaking off to read echomail and do some updates.

Understood and thanks for checking in. Glad to hear you're doing well. I've
run out of steam a bit on some bbs related things but I'm hopeful the weekend will reignite my motivation. Part of the issue is that my girlfriend wants to hang out 24/7 when we're not working...starting to drive me crazy! But at the end of the day I'm a lucky guy. I'll find the time.

Cool. Do you know what the dimensions (cols and rows) of your CP/M terminal will be? or what terminal it will emulate?

The kit I started with was the rc2014, it's website is here :
rc2014.co.uk

The guy that make the kits is very friendly and helpful, but I tend to
think the kits from small computer central are better value, the SC114
is a good kit to get started with, mainly because the CPU/ROM/RAM are
all on the mainboard rather than seperate boards, then you have 4 slots
for expansion. (For example, a compact flash card and serial card so you
can run CP/M (otherwise you're limited to MS-BASIC)

If you want to run CP/M the cheapest way to go is the SC114 and a module
called the 61c "The missing module" which is a ACIA serial port and
compact flash card all in one.

All the kit makers are on the google groups "rc2014-z80" and
"retro-comp" and are very helpful and friendly.

It's a little addictive though, especially when most of them give away
their schematics / PCB designs so you can go get them printed yourself
and organise the parts, which may work out cheaper if you want to make
multiple lots. The official rc2014 kits don't though.

Cool. Do you know what the dimensions (cols and rows) of your CP/M terminal will be? or what terminal it will emulate?

80x25, I think it's ANSI/VT-100 compatible. Here's a link to the tindie

Bahh, most of us read all the echos and personally I don't even realize what echo I'm in. If I have something to say based on the convos that are
happening I jump in. I too didn't realize that we are in the Mystic echo
until you mentioned it.

This was my 1st computer I bought used for $5 & having to spend at least that much to get an Atari power wart to run it from Wal-Mart.

In terms of a use...I am a loss of an answer...just like I would be with a VIC-20. ;) On the other hand...shine up the case on the ZX-81 to catch my attention by being shiny & I might come up with an answer. ;)
