    Networking issue, HELP!

I've rechecked the settings on both ends multiple times, but for some reason My public BBS won't connect to my network hub. I've tried polling from both sides and each time it says "Unable to connect". This doesn't make any sense because they are both on the same machine.

Everything was working just fine about a month ago, and nothing has changed
on the machine since around March of last year.

This one really has me flummoxed.

So you run a BBS and a HUB on the same machine correct?

A Mystic BBS polling what sort of a HUB do you run?

When you mis poll [hub address] level 3 logging ... what does it say?

Could you HUB have blocked the internal IP address of your BBS polling it?

When you say polling from 'both sides' I don't follow what this means.

Does anyone else poll your HUB, have they had probs?

    Yes.

    Both are Mystic

When you mis poll [hub address] level 3 logging ... what does it say?

It doesn't show up in the logs because it's not able to make a connection.

Could you HUB have blocked the internal IP address of your BBS polling
    it?

Have checked the blacklist and it was clear. Added to the white list just be safe.

When you say polling from 'both sides' I don't follow what this means.

Polling from LoY to the hub, and polling from the hub to LoY.

Does anyone else poll your HUB, have they had probs?

yes, Just about every node in SFNet connects to the hub. And the only ones that have reported any problems are both using iRex.

    Yes.

    OK cool.

A Mystic BBS polling what sort of a HUB do you run?
    Both are Mystic

Are both the same version of Mystic and what OS?

When you mis poll [hub address] level 3 logging ... what does it say?
It doesn't show up in the logs because it's not able to make a
    connection.

It should log something in the poll.log file from memory.

Could you HUB have blocked the internal IP address of your BBS pollin it?
Have checked the blacklist and it was clear. Added to the white list

    good stuff

When you say polling from 'both sides' I don't follow what this means

Polling from LoY to the hub, and polling from the hub to LoY.

so both systems fail to talk both ways, OK understood.

Does anyone else poll your HUB, have they had probs?
yes, Just about every node in SFNet connects to the hub. And the only
ones that have reported any problems are both using iRex.

an older bit of software. I am unsure if there are issues there but have a hunch g00r00 had worked to accommodate that software. I recall the BinkP server will report the type of connection it gets from the node... do you see anything in the mis logs?

It may pay to shut mis server down, and try changing the 'escape mode' setting in your BinkP server. I have mine set for Auto and hopefully you do also? But if it is not that, try auto, and perhaps also test with your Irex node some polls with the escape mode set to another option. I wonder if that may at the root cause of your Irex issues? Not sure.

What do the Irex nodes logging show at their end?
