    Hi, Dindjarin.

This is my first experience using a BBS.

Congratulations! I'm also a relative newcomer to the BBS scene - I know my dad called into a few when I was younger (using a borrowed modem) but it cost so much back in the day that it was too much for us to make it a regular thing.

    Seems very neat.

I think so. I dial into a few BBSes most days - there are a few door games (Bubble Boggle & Wordle) that I always hit and there are quite a few distinct communities across the boards.

Please reply to me if you see this in the next few days.

Let us know what kind of thing you're looking for - I'm sure you'll get some recommendations.

I suppose I was mostly looking for people to chat with. The concept of forums existing outside of the internet is really cool to me.

I think that there might be some packet radio type BBS that might be interesting to play with.

    Hi, Dindjarin.

I suppose I was mostly looking for people to chat with. The concept of forums existing outside of the internet is really cool to me.

If interactive chat interests you then there is multi-relay chat on this board (C M from the main menu) which is sometimes busy, sometimes not, but there is a regular meet-up on there every saturday evening (UK time), I guess afternoon your time. It's very reminiscent of IRC back in the day.

I think that there might be some packet radio type BBS that might be interesting to play with.

I think you'd be lucky to find any alive these days, however the topic has come up in the ham radio echoes a few times recently so there is interest in the topic. I can't remember if it was mentioned in the Dovenet HAM echo or another one (FSXnet?).

If you find any please report back :)
