This is mainly for people who grew up in the UK in the 80's but feel free to join in.

When I moved to the US I ditched all my computer equipment. I couldn't afford to bring it with me and it was cluttering my parents house so I let them throw it all out. How I regret that.

I've managed to import a BBC Micro model B with a floppy drive and smart people have added an MMC card reader and now a Gotek plus an rpi as a co-processor. Snazzy stuff. I also got rid of an original 48K ZX Spectrum and now have one of those on the way.

It got me thinking about what else I'd like to own. I'd stick a Commodor 64 on there, of course, along with a Dragon 32, ZX81, Ti99/4A and a Video Genie by EACA. it's a TRS-80 type clone with a built in tape deck. First computer I used at school. Finally, I think, an Amstrad CPC646.

So, what retro kit did you get rid of that you wish you had, or what do you have that you want to brag about? Even better...what are you going to sell to me? :)

My aunt gave me a CoCo 2 (not brand new) when I was a kid, and I got rid of it when I moved out of the house as a teenager. I still have the floppy drive though. I do not miss the CoCo joysticks, though.

Back in 2015 I was moving to a new place and didn't think I had the room to store all of my Retro stuff All Commodore and Amiga, I had a C64c, C128, 1541 drives, Lt Kernal HD with Multiplexer (The HD was in pieces as it had a bad power supply), an Amiga 500 with add on Hard Drive with 8megs of Fast Ram, a ton of modems, software, a monitor, and a ton of odds and ends that I had in storage in my Garage for the previous 20 years. I threw away my collection of PC's an XT, 286, 386, 486 DLC 40, 486 DX2 166, Pentium 75, 166, Pentium 2 233, P3 500mhz, a couple of P4's and a ton of extras like floppy drives, and HD's.. I had a lot of history with all of that stuff.. 1 of every Intel processor computer was my pride, but I said new place new look. I kept what I had running and the rest went bye bye! I wish I had it ALL back!! The only good that came out of my purge was I found my original backups of my last Image 1.2 BBS and my last backups of Image 2.0 BBS which I was one of the last programmers on before Fred Dart died, I sent that software to a friend in Florida who took my 1.2 software and put it back online for people ot dial into, and took the 2.0 and tossed that online then finished the programing of it over the next 3 years.. Good but more bad..

I had a load of old PC stuff in the garage along with all sorts of junk. I ended up getting rid of everything and I don't regret it. A PC is a PC to me. The old 8 bit stuff is quite different.

I just had a ZX Spectrum turn up today, an original 48K with the rubber keys. I'm picking up a TRS-80 which comes with a monitor tomorrow. Only $75 too and just popped up on FB by chance. I wasn't really the version I was looking for but it'll be a good start. Comes with a floppy drive too. Be interesting to see if there's any software.

I need to have a good clean out cos my office is a mess and my desk is piled high with junk. I just don't have room for it all. I really need to get my ass in gear and start to clean out.
