WD 2TB SSD.
- Note: When searching for the 5540 specs, some references do not
indicate the 5440 storage as an M.2 type form factor(like the WD 2TB SSD >which specifices NVMe and M.2).
While, in most cases the naming NVMe M.2 does not have a bearing when >replacing an NVMe SSD(NVMe is a protocol for data transfer and storage,
while M.2 is a physical form factor for SSDs
it might be worth the effort to access the storage slot(remove andlook at current installed) to ensure the current pin connection are
identical to the WD 2TB SSD NVMe/M.2

I have a dell laptop 5570 and it too will only go to 500G.  Bummer!!!
It came with 128 and 128 & 256 were sata drives, and the 500G had to be nvme. All m2.
Odd that the socket would take for sata and nvme.

Have you checked, as quite often bios updates allow for greater storage >capacity.
