    x86_64!

Curious. Is this the first 6.x version for x86-64 or is it
the first version ever for x86-64?

It would be interesting to know how much effort was involved in moving
the kernel/device driver code from Alpha/Itanium to x86-64.

Any nasty surprises ? Any pleasant surprises, given the new kernel
and driver changes for x86-64 VMS ?

This port is a very good data point and it would be interesting to hear
about anything which stood out in the porting process.

    Thanks,

    Simon.

It could be interesting to know the effort to port the
    Macro-32 code in the driver.

But the driver must be a tiny tiny fraction of the
    overall code base.
