New Zealand has benefited from successive governments adopting an
independent foreign policy, emphasising the desirability to following international laws, and supporting organisations such as the UN. Such
a principled stance has probably never been easy, and now is no
different, but this is one area where I believe Winston Peters has
proved relatively reliable - here is hoping that we do not do anything
rash regarding AUKUS. See:
