With the Coalition Government now into the second year we need to reflect of the coalition which some said would not last for a year.

It seems to me that the after 30 years of MMP things are going as they
should. Each of the three leaders are in the limelight are avocating for
their manafesto items which keeps the parties polices in the limelight
allowing those that voted for the minor two to have their voices heard.

The coalition agreements are working (being hounoured) which creates
stability and allows storms in the tea cups to disapate quickly.

One has to also reflect on differences between that present Government and
the previous one which was FPP powered. It certainly reinforced the need for MMP and how bad FPP could be. It is to hoped that the people do not allow
any party at any time to hold the majority of the seats in the House. It is simply not good for the country.

Wow! Been on the turps, have you Gordon!

New Zealand held its first general election under the Mixed Member
Proportional (MMP) electoral system on 12 October 1996.

"I would say to you" that the current government is almost totally
"Off Track", that an inept Prime Minister is incompetent and that the
Atlas Network is the only source of ideas for all three parties.

Certainly it took nearly a full year to confirm to most New Zealanders
that the "Coalition of Chaos" is significantly Off Track - and that
will be confirmed in the Prefu to be presented soon. Just try not to
need hospitalisation in the next two years, Gordon.

Absolute garbage. Not a word of truth in that.

We should be thankful that we survived 6 years of Labour led government destroying the health service (and many otgher things). Thank goodness also that this one is at least rebuilding a failed model.

I would remind you Rich that the last Labour government implemented
major reforms affecting every household in NZ with 3 waters, none of
which was ever mentioned in their pre-election manifesto.

When Hipkins was elected Labour leader he immediately initiated a
'policy bonfire' but 3-waters was already embedded in law so he could
not touch it (no Government has ever repealed an Act it introduced, in
    the same Parliamentary term).

Well given Labour's actions last time, everything the current
Government has done is exactly what they said they would do. There is
still room for significant improvement, but a welcome change to what
Labour were intent on doing with Ardern as leader.

3 Waters was not implemented as Act1stNational were elected before it
got that far, so while they would have affected most households with a
more secure and safe water supply, that work was stopped with the
election. The Bill to renege on Te Tiriti was not mentioned in any pre-election manifesto; and the Regulatory Standards Bill.

Are you claiming that the lower tax income and lower productivity
announced today were in their pre-election promises?
