• pad-weld practice - getting hand back after 2yrs

From Richard Smith@21:1/5 to All on Sun Jun 23 20:56:37 2024
    Hi there

For what it's worth - other volunteer paired with not here today, so
continued to run-off pad-welds "getting hand back in".
    Amazed coming back to it.
    Running nicely enough.
Then used chalk and straight-edge to give me line to weld to.
That increased the number of variables being controlled...
Going to have to get out good commercial-grade autodarkening visor,
and fixed shade have "cheater" lens ("reading glasses strength"). So
can see weld more clearly than with cheaper autodarkener I restarted
    with.

    Good to be back though.
Going to insist the "cage" would in reality take the force if it
really were suspended from the master-link of the 4-chain bridle-set arrangement, even though in reality with sit on a beam (the shaft is
flooded from a few metres down - was pumped "for free" by neighbouring
mine when they were naughty going beyond their sett and broke into
this mine - firmly told by judge that brought this on themselves -
    pumped until that mine closed).
Make sure that if some circumstance did change, thing (the cage) will
do what it looks like it should do.

    Overall - happy days...

    Best wishes,
    Rich S.
