Milton and Luko discuss the actual site for the ceremony.
The Hunters moon is special this year as it's a 'super moon'! Moonrise
is 07:30AM EST on 17October.
They suggest a general meeting with everyone to list nearby groves or
even where the camper is?

There are a group of local kitties who should be arriving any time now,
who will show us to the nearby groves to show us what's nearby. I
understand there are some real beauties out there! I expect them any
time now.

Local kitties, huh? You must mean Doob's group. Let's walk up towards
the falls. They usually hang out at the last clearing before the big
falls.
[A large procession of animals, some Australian and some not, follow
the trail deep into the green. Just a couple kilometers later they
approach a large, open glen situated by a pond with a lovely
waterfall.]
'Oy, Doob, ye'z got someone lookin' for yez.
[A muscular orange tabby with a short tail meows from up a tree.]
'Oy, Reg. And welcome to you lot. I'm thinking you're the Community
folks, ya?
Milton: Yes, that's us. We've heard that you've got some really
spectacular places around here, where we could do our Jellicle Ball observance. Have you head of it?
Doob: Oh yeah, once Reg told me about you guys I looked you up. That
Jellicle Ball sounds like a right good idea. I'm thinking that we
need to start observing that with you.
Now, some of the land around here is sacred to the indigenous
peoples. We're real close with them - protecting their traditions is important to all of us. But I've told them about your Ball, and think
it's a fine idea. In fact, the head man in the local town has asked
if some of the local 2foots could observe quietly - honoring those
who have gone before is very important to them.
Callie: Not to worry, we iz nothing if not respectful. Dis is our
family that we are remembering, and our grief that we are trying to
process. So we won't do anything to disrespect or dishonor the place
or the people.
Doob: Well, then, let me tell you about this. Luko, Jack, you
guys, might have heard about this - if we go behind a waterfall and
through a cave, it will take us into a protected grove. As you can
see, the terrain here is high rocky plateaus that the river has
eroded over the millennia. There is a beautiful chunk of land that's
hidden behind a scarf of rock from the river side, and inaccessible
from above. The natives don't hunt here, keeping it as a refuge and a
place of solitude and reverence. And there is an outcropping of
granite centrally located that could be used as a stage or lectern.
Does that sound like something that might work?
Jack looks slightly concerned if he can make it. Pip Sqeek
demonstrates how he can flatten like an osterich om the run but make a
comfy secure seat. A little flying mouse lands on his head and
whispers. 'yess little mama, dey don't hunt dere so dem kitties won't
chase you or yer joey'. She settles in grabbing (gently) some head
feathers.
Mama Quokka grins and nods. Meantime Rosa Lee, neighbors of Jack anna
Luko (American opposum) whispers in her pooch for her littles to hold
on.
Rapper, the tree climbing kangaroo promises to jump along at the back
to see no one gets lost.
Gigi and Pepe come along colorfully to see the new sight.

Doob adds "In case I forgot to mention, I've got the teleporter
coordinates too in case anyone is unsure about navigating through a
tunnel. In fact, Hamish, how would you like to 'port on over and see
how everything is coming along, and let us know whether we need to
arrange for more supplies?
[ The procession sets out for the falls, with everyone enjoying a
decent path. There are a few places where the path gets wet and
muddy, but the critters with the longer pace help lift the smaller
ones over the mud. They finally pass around a large boulder, and see
that the waterfall tumbles down close to 10 feet away from the wall,
and a nice, smooth path leads behind the water and into the cave.
Doob points out a few nests of birds just behind the waterfall,
mentioning that they are deaf due to constant exposure to the roar of
the water, but they have learned to hunt using other senses.
The walk through the cave is brief, being only a couple hundred yards
long. When they exit the other end, they step into a beautiful green
clearing surrounded by magnificent woods. Bushes, fruit trees, and
vines grow in riotous abundance. Birdsong fills the little valley.
Hamish waves and meows from a
Kitties, dogs, skunks, moles, cassowarys and other critters variously
fly, walk, crawl, and teleport into the remote, isolated glade. It is
obvious that the locals have been busy, as there are comfortable huts scattered about, lovely beds and cushions all over, and plenty of
other seating. One of the huts has a sign reading "Booteek" over the
door, all ready for the shop to open. Another hut is home to a
kitchen, where all sorts of goodies are being prepared.
The Second World cats who came through carrying musical instruments
are setting up and tuning up, joined by locals carrying their own instruments.
Callie Fluffytail has set up a table for the guest book, and is also
handing out hankies to those who request them. As kitties arrive,
Callie calls them over to the guest book.

"Zara, I'm Benni. Pleased to meet you. When I heard that P2nya
crossed the Rainbow Bridge I wondered about the Booteek. You've been
in P2nya's store before then?"
"Oh, no, we've just heard about it. When we learned that the Jellicle
Ball would be held here, we all got so excited about finally seeing
the Booteek, and meeting Ms P2nya. Then we heard about her passing,
and decided that in order to express our support for the wonderful
things we heard about the Booteek, we would set it up and operate it
in her honor."
"Well cool! I for one appreciate that. I don't supposed that you
would have a silver tail bow with red edges, would you?"
[Benni and Zara wander off to look at tail bows.]
