• Tech News sites

From Bob Roberts@316:36/39 to All on Wed Dec 9 13:39:35 2020
I just wanted to share some of my favorite tech news sites, and see if anyone had any to add. I'm always looking for good sources of tech news.

These are the sites I check typically every day:

    1. Techmeme.com - Love this site, great tech news aggregator
    2. MacRumors.com - Apple news aggregator
    3. Arstechnica.com - Tech/Science/Policy news. This site has been around forever... its still good.
    4. TheVerge.com - Newer site, started by some of the Engadget folks. A bit preachy but good.
    5. DaringFireball.net - Apple commentary blog from John Gruber.
    6. Hacker News - news.ycombinator.com - I don't hit this site every day, but Its a good source of developer news and information

Yeah I was going to post theregister also. They've been snubbed by Apple for many years now so you won't get any Apple inside scoops, but on the other hand it's made them even less deferential since they've already been blacklisted anyway. It's definitely my primary tech news source, think my account on it is 8 years old now

TheRegister has a certain amount of snark and attitude I enjoy. But until you all reminded me I kinda forgot about it. I will add it to my bookmarks and start reading it again. Thanks!

Does anyone use Slashdot anymore? I remember it was *THE* news source back in the late 90's. To get on the first page of Slashdot was the honor of a lifetime. Then it became Digg.... and then Reddit. I guess you could put Fark in there somewhere too.....

Cool, I'll check them out. Looks like hackernoon.com has an expired cert.

I love the oreilly books and been a big fan of those for years, didn't ever think of going to the site for anything other than book erratas!

Back in the day, maybe late 90's early 00's Slashdot was the bomb diggity. Then it became Digg. I was always a big user of the Somethingawful Forums back then. Now Digg is gone. The SA Forums are alive but a lot smaller, and Reddit is king.
