Mike,
I would love to wish everyone a happy, healthy and propsperous New
Year. My wife and I enjoyed a nice dinner/dance on New Years Eve. A
great start, and hopefully it will continue.
My dinner and dance was gathering with fellow officers of the Executive
Board of the Arkansas State Square Dance Federation, after a meeting...at
a local restaurant, then to a square dance on New Year's Night. Thankfully, severe storms and flooding that were in the region New Years Eve and much
of New Years Day, were out of the area by midafternoon...then, I could
finally bring the BBS back up.
This local restaurant is a central Arkansas franchise called "David's Burgers", which has been around for over 10 years. Their main selections
are burgers and grilled chicken (davidsburgers.com) -- but if you "dine
in" and order a combo, you get unlimited french fries. Then, afterwards
a complementary sample of either chocolate, vanilla, or swirl ice cream.
As noted, New Years Eve had them shooting off fireworks and firearms,
so it sounded like a war zone. Then, we had the natural fireworks with
thunder and lightning. There was snow in the region earlier in the day,
but with as warm as it had been in December, few if any impacts were
noted locally.
We plan to do a lot of travelling in our motor home to see the sights
and the grandkids.
Never have children...only grandchildren. I could make a bunch of money
if I knew how to do that. <G>
