Why so discouraging? It's about to revive this place. Anyone for a cold beverage? ;)

Mainly because I'd have more problems connecting to or staying connected to WEN than any other network. Hubs stop working, passwords get changes, I get unsubbed from all the echoes with no notification. If it's going to pick up, it needs to be a lot more stable if it's going to exist along side busy networks like fxsnet.

WhisperNet certainly has had some technical issues. The main thing it's still around and I'm getting things back in order. Looks like the connection with your system to the network seems to be functioning good again.

I'm in no attempt trying to compete with the other networks, yet to just provide a family friendly space for people to enjoy their time together. I don't recall passwords changes, however, there was a time when your node was out of the nodelist unfortunately. I've got 50+ administrators connecting to this network, yet I haven't had such discouraging words. If it's built they will come. Also, unsubbed would also follow suit of nodes with technical issues. As before, it looks good on this end. I do howevr, enjoy FSXNet as well as other networks - hat tipped.

Well, it could be better than a warm beverage if you know what I mean.
;) What kind of cold beverage are you talking about?

I never cared for hot beverages (i.e. coffee). Now, with having to give
up things like tea, soda/carbonated beverages, and caffeine, my main deal
now is making up some lemonade KoolAid with a version from a regional
grocery store known as Kroger. The soda/carbonated beverages were likely causing kidney stones (the worst thing a male can have, pain wise, in comparison to a woman in childbirth)...and the tea and caffeine (including chocolate, candy, etc.), was sending the heart rate to 155. I ended up
being ambulatory to the Emergency Room, and hospitalized twice earlier
    this year.

They have a Kroger Card (loyalty card), which gives you fuel points
for every dollar you spend. It equates to 10 cents a gallon off for
every $100 you spend in groceries. With their VIP program (currently
$40 a year), you get double the fuel points. And, on Tuesday (at least
in the Little Rock area), senior citizens get an additional 5% discount
off their purchases. Items are also cheaper if one has a Kroger card.
On the fuel purchases, there is a limit to $1 per gallon off per month,
and the points don't accumulate from month to month. Instead, what's
earned in September, expires at the end of October. With the way prices
have climbed, it does't take long to rack up a big bill.

They also offer delivery through an app or online. What I would spend
with delivery is what I'd spend driving to and from the store...never
mind wear and tear on the car, fighting traffic (especially during the holidays). Then, I have to do all that walking (they keep moving items
around). Plus, it's difficult to find a close parking place (especially
for disabled customers...there are so few of those spaces). Then, it can
take a long time to checkout. I don't use the self checkout lanes, as
that takes away a job from an employee...plus, I have quite a few items.

My luck would be like from the Ziggy comic strip...he goes into the lane marked "10 items or less". All he has is one carton of a dozen eggs; but,
they won't let him use the line, as he has more than 10 items. <G> Unfortunately, with delivery, if they are out of a certain item, you are offered substitutions...or the choice to remove that from your order.
Plus, you may be limited in the amount of items you can get of a specific
    item.

With delivery, I order and pay for the stuff online, and have it
delivered at a day and time I specify. They bring it to the front porch,
and I just bring the bags inside. I have so many of those old recycled
plastic bags (which are extremely flimsy), that I don't know if I should
bring them back to be recycled, or just throw all of them in a big trash
    bag.

All I have left here is a few bags of PopSecret Popcorn (with extra butter...I needed the fiber <G>), about a dozen small packages of
Buddig Lunch Meat (black forest ham and honey ham), and things of
"the Kroger Koolaid". Otherwise, I'm out of food and drink. So, I'm
planning to go to the store today to load up...especially considering
today is "Senior Citizen Discount Day", and weather is supposed to be
stormy again here later in the week.

A squall line of strong and severe thunderstorms plowed through
the state overnight Sunday into Monday...with a Doppler Radar
indicated tornado near Sheridan, not too far south of Little Rock,
around 4:30am. I got very little sleep that night, with the NOAA
Weather Radio Warning Alarm constantly going off. I'm still tired
    this morning.

I've been using the delivery for the last 18 months or so. The typical shopping trip for us, takes about 90 minutes. So, if you take the drive time, gas, etc, and then the time spent in the store, the $9.95 delivery fee, plus tip, is well worth it.

That's been both a good thing and a bad thing for us... If they are out of something, you may get a larger size, or a different brand. Sometimes the replacement brand isn't as good... I haven't had any issues with items being limited.

One product they have that I really like, is the Kroger 'Drink Enhancer'. It's similar to the Mio brand, where it's a concentrated liquid flavoring that you put into your water. It's also about a $1 less than the Mio brand. I go through about 4-5 of those each week.

planning to go to the store today to load up...especially considering today is "Senior Citizen Discount Day", and weather is supposed to be stormy again here later in the week.
