Unfortunately, some take it a way bit too serious. It is a hobby in a
way for me, but also a means for my business and to meet new people. I
enjoy BBSing a lot; all the way back in the late 80s. It's come a long
way since 300 baud. I have a much better baud now. ;)

I spend the minimum amount of time with the BBS, plus ham radio and
square dance related stuff, with the computer. I don't spend every waking moment with them...or I risk burnout.

I still remember the 300 baud logging onto CompuServe 40 years ago.

I originally was using it for weather info. Then, I went to the forum
pages, and one of the items was from the M100SIG (for the Radio Shack
TRS-80 Model 100 laptop), where you could run a mini BBS on it!! I no
longer have the computer, but still have the file over here with the
programs named "SoftMail" and "Mini-Net". Those were the predecessor of
    The Thunderbolt BBS.

I found myself using the "free pages" more often, just to kill time, as
I originally was logged on at 300 baud with a Radio Shack TRS-80 MC-10
Micro Color Computer...and it was dial-up internet.
