    I should have mentioned that the only reason he's able to connect to me is that my system is one of few left that can accept a dial-up connection. BinkleyTerm under OS/2 (my BBS system front end) has a lot of neat tricks up it sleeve combined with VModem for OS/2.

    Windows 10 32 bit in a VM would do the trick.

    The best way to do it would be to use a 32-bit Windows 10 VM.
    VMware Player workstation and virtualbox are both free and will
    do this with very little effort. Or you could use the Windows 10
    VM hack to allow dos programs to run under a 64-bit OS if you
    trust it.
