New police details are out this morning in the attack on Paul Pelosi,
who is home now after being released from the hospital yesterday.
Apparently Pelosi and the attacker, DePape, were in the hallway near
the front door struggling over the hammer when police arrived.
DePape had already been there with Pelosi for about 30 minutes,
according to NBC News.
When police knocked on door, Pelosi answered the door and proceeded
back into the hallway where he was still struggling over the hammer. He
never created alarm or told them this was an emergency.
It was then that officers used a flashlight and saw DePape and Pelosi
holding the hammer, at which point DePape pulled the hammer away and
struck Pelosi.
Here’s a video report on the new details from NBC News:

Here’s more from The Daily Mail:
A seemingly calm Paul Pelosi never let on to responding
officers that he was in distress just seconds before he
walked back into his house where an intruder bludgeoned
him with a hammer, new details from police sources have
revealed.
Instead of telling officers that he needed help, or trying
to flee the home, Pelosi calmly greeted them and then retreated
several feet back into the foyer where police saw the DePape
strike him with a hammer, police sources close to the
investigation told NBC News.
When Officers Kolby Wilmes and Kyle Cagney responded to the
residence and rang the doorbell, DePape reportedly told Pelosi
not to open the door, but he did anyway using his left hand.
Pelosi and DePape stood in the dimly lit foyer and faced the
officers as Pelosi calmly greeted them, the report said.
When one of the officers asked what was going on, DePape said,
‘everything’s good’ and pulled his hands toward his body. When
an officer turned on his flashlight, DePape could be seen
holding the bottom handle of the hammer with one hand and
Pelosi’s right arm with the other. Pelosi’s right hand was
also on the handle of the hammer.
When an officer ordered for the men to ‘drop the hammer,’
DePape raised the hammer and said, ‘um, nope’ as he tried to
pull it away from Pelosi who exclaimed ‘hey, hey!’
DePape then gained control of it and struck Pelosi’s head,
which knocked Pelosi unconscious, according to San Francisco
FBI special agent Stephanie Minor wrote in a request for a
federal criminal complaint and arrest warrant.
This certainly explains how DePape could injure Pelosi right there in
front of officers, before they could stop him.
But I’m still wanting to know exactly why DePape was there in the first
place. None of that has been established and the media continue to
pretend that DePape is a right-winger.
And as I suggested before it seems this information is being
intentionally withheld by authorities to help the media perpetuate this
false narrative about DePape, at least until the midterms are over.
That’s probably when we’ll find out what his true motive was in
breaking into the Pelosi home.
According to Benny, NBC News deleted their version of this video report
and scrubbed it from their website, claiming it did not meet their
reporting standards and never should have aired.
