    I worked for awhile a couple blocks from MacArthur Park. Some nice
    food vendors outside the park.

    I believe MacArthur Park plays a part in Philip Jose Farmer's World of Tiers novel, "Behind the Walls of Terra". I do remember for certain that the
    La Brea Tar Pits (in the middle of the city!) played a part.
