The Cincinnati-based team of scientists
traveled to Iowa last August after three
fire stations requested their help out
of concern that their workers were being
exposed to diesel exhaust.
We can save MILLIONS by simply NOT doing something.
"Do not eat" - Found on desiccant packets, which are often included to keep products dry.
"For external use only" - Common on lotions and creams, but it raises questions about what people might be tempted to do!
"Remove before flight" - On tags for certain items, like parachutes or safety equipment, which seems a bit obvious.
"Caution: Contents may be hot" - On coffee cups, because apparently, some people need a reminder.
"Not a lifesaving device" - On pool floats, just in case someone thinks they can use it as a flotation device.
"May contain traces of nuts" - On packages of nuts, which is a bit redundant.
"This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease" - On many supplements, which makes you wonder
what they are actually good for.
"Keep away from children" - On items like adult toys or certain cleaning products, which is a necessary warning but can sound
funny out of context.
"Shake well before use" - On products like salad dressings, which can lead to some messy situations if not followed!
These directions often highlight the absurdity of certain situations or the need for companies to cover themselves legally,
leading to some amusing packaging reads!
And the pièce de résistance...
Don't breathe diesel fumes.
There... millions saved.
