Congress is ‘prepared to act’ on disaster aid as FEMA runs out
    of cash, Cole says

Disaster relief funding is expected to be depleted this summer,
but the White House hasn’t sent Congress an emergency request.

    . . .

You can argue the DETAILS of FEMA ... but it's much
harder to argue the underlying IDEA.

Yes, states can and should increase their own
disaster reserves, not be totally reliant on
the Fed, not hog-tied by the infinitely-deep
    micro-regs and delay tactics.

BUT ... some disasters are just kinda BEYOND the
cash/resources any one state can muster. There IS
a point where the "All For One" philosophy needs
    to phase in.

And just WAIT for "The Big One" in Cal ... that
is gonna be a whopper. Coming soon Science says.
NEWS reports indicate an uptick in Pacific Rim
    issues too, so ...

FEMA is not evil ... just a typically over-bloated
bureaucracy. DOGE and friends need to slash and
trash that bureaucracy - make FEMA much more
    mission-focused again.

The 2nd/3rd tier people in FEMA - the ones who
actually get their boots dirty, smell the dead
bodies - THEY should be the new ones In Charge.
