Former Vice President Mike Pence criticized
    President Donald Trump’s across-the-board
tariffs on Monday, arguing that a looming
“price shock” to the economy and potential
shortages will lead Americans to “demand a
different approach” from the White House.

“I was deeply disappointed to see President
Trump pardon people that engaged in violence
against law enforcement officers that day.
The president has every right under the
Constitution to grant pardons, but in that
moment, I thought it sent the wrong message,”
    the former vice president said.

"Pence proved to be a back-stabber" is not common sense. It's a
complaint that he refused to break the law and participate in a coup.

On the morning of Jan 6 Pence called up
Dan Quayle - also a lawyer, also a VP
who had to certify an election he lost -
and asked him what to do. "Follow the
Constitution, it is the law" was the
    answer.

How Dan Quayle saved democracy. Yes, really.

    DING! DING! DING! DING!

I'm probably in the minority but AT THE TIME, and WHAT WAS KNOW
AT THAT PLACE IN TIME, I believe Pence acted in accordance with
    the US Constitution.

While I do believe and have always believed that the 2020 election
has many indications of mass corruption, at that time, it was nothing
more than he said, she said.

And without even a conspiracy theory, the burying of the Hunter laptop story and the FBI/DOJ influencing social media, was election interference and
studies have shown that that alone, by itself, was enough to give the
    election to Biden.

That being said, Pence is a back stabber and is looking out for his own
    career.
Not unlike most if not all politicians.

As for the election, there is more coming out by the day and at some point
the truth, either way, will emerge.
And FWIW, the 2016 election also looks a bit odd to me as well.

These days I do not trust the US government no matter who is in charge.

But after losing court case after court
case and with no further options at hand,
Trump and his allies had zeroed in on
January 6 as their last ditch chance to
    try to influence the outcome.

They spent days in a futile bid trying to
convince Pence that the vice president
had the power to reject electors from
battleground states that voted for Biden,
even though the Constitution makes clear
the vice president’s role in the joint
session is largely ceremonial, much like
    a master of ceremonies.

Pence acknowledged that reality in a
    lengthy statement Wednesday laying out
his conclusion that a vice president
    cannot claim “unilateral authority” to
    reject states’ electoral votes.

“It is my considered judgment that my
oath to support and defend the
    Constitution constrains me from
    claiming unilateral authority to
    determine which electoral votes should
be counted and which should not,” Pence
wrote in a letter to members of Congress
that was released shortly before he
gaveled in the joint session of
Congress. Not long after, the angry mob
    swarmed the Capitol, overwhelmed police
and halted the proceeding that had been
    underway.

Yes, someone who's an Original Classification Authority (OCA) has

as documentation requirements: one can't simply think "unclassified",
because even the OCA has to follow the requirements in its SCG.

Dinesh D’Souza Says Sorry for ‘2000 Mules’
That video of alleged illegal ballot
    harvesting? Nothing of the sort.

So he finally admits his movie was a lie. A bit late for that! Also
note it wasn't until it was proven a lie by legal action that he
    finally 'fessed up.

Indulging Donald Trump’s claims that the
2020 election was stolen has ruined many
reputations. The latest is the unraveling
of the MAGA mockumentary “2000 Mules.”
This week the movie’s narrator, Dinesh
D’Souza, issued an apology for misleading
    viewers.

    WSJ It's only a dollar a week.

A lot of WSJ articles (and NYT, WAPO, etc) you can find
    archive.today

Put the article URL in and often it says it's already
been archived and you can read it.

Have tried reader mode, a lot of times it still
only picks up the teaser content.

    Excellent tip.

Also try turning off javascript. A lot of
times the blocking is javescript based.
