Wasting tens of millions of taxpayer dollars to welcome Third World
invaders, including providing them housing and other benefits has proved
to be just the ticket to turn Denver into a Third World failed city.
Crime has reached levels formerly seen only in cities like Tijuana,
    Porto Prince, or Johannesburg.

In "exclusive" interview, Mayor Mike Johnston says city budget is facing
$250 million shortfall over next two years

Denver city officials plan to lay off employees, institute a hiring
freeze and require unpaid furloughs as they stare down a projected $250
million budget hole over the next two years, Mayor Mike Johnston
    announced Thursday.

It’s not yet clear how many layoffs will be necessary or how city
services will be affected, but deep cuts are unavoidable, Johnston said.
Sales tax revenue, which makes up more than half of Denver’s income, has slumped while the city’s costs are growing.

In an exclusive (sic) interview with The Denver Post ahead of the
announcement, Johnston said the constraints couldn’t be addressed with
small adjustments like saying, “Let’s buy fewer pencils.”

“These are structural problems,” he said.

Denver will collect $50 million less in tax revenue than expected this
year, triggering some immediate cost-saving measures like the hiring
freeze and limiting any unnecessary staff spending.

[It appears that all those illegal aliens working off the books and not
paying taxes has consequences, eh Mayor Johnston? How does it feel to be
at the helm as you turn the Mile High City into Nuevo Havana?]

All the more reason to track down and deport the illegals.
The system is simply not designed to support the "world".

It is an interesting mind exercise to try to imagine how things would
have played out differently for the Denver mayor had his wet dream of having a "black" woman who is the daughter of immigrants from Third

    This assertion?

"Layoffs, furloughs coming for Denver employees after tens of millions
spent to house Joe Biden's invaders"

What evidence is lacking per the assertion? Is the mayor lying? Is the
Denver Post lying? Did the city of Denver not spend tens of millions of dollars to house Joe Biden's invaders? Is the city of Denver not short
now a quarter billion dollars and therefore furloughing workers? Is the chronological order wrong in respect to Biden's invaders being brought

abet their colonization of Denver and following that the city of Denver
is in the red to the tune of a quarter billion dollars? Inquiring minds

    This assertion?

    The text:

"after tens of millions spent to house Joe Biden's invaders"

...doesn't appear in the Denver Post article.

In fact, the name "Biden" doesn't appear.

So your assertion has now turned into you outright lying.

But let's answer all your questions.

What evidence is lacking per the assertion?

That any money was spent on anyone.

      Is the mayor lying?

About what? Where does the mayor say they spent money on "invaders"?

    Is the
    Denver Post lying?

Nope. YOU are lying about what they said.

Did the city of Denver not spend tens of millions of
dollars to house Joe Biden's invaders?

You haven't shown any evidence they spent any money on anything like that.

Is the city of Denver not short
now a quarter billion dollars and therefore furloughing workers?

Apparently. Doesn't mean it was because of "invaders".

    Is the
chronological order wrong in respect to Biden's invaders being brought
to Denver and Denver spending tens of millions of dollars to aid and
abet their colonization of Denver and following that the city of Denver
is in the red to the tune of a quarter billion dollars?

    "Chronological order"? No.

"Spending tens of millions to aid and abet their colonization of
Denver"? No evidence has been presented that any such money was spent.
That's the assertion YOU made and won't support.

    Inquiring minds
    want to know.

    Nah.

You just want your bigoted preconceptions confirmed.

Using a search engine or just looking at usenet posts over the last 9
months on the topic of open borders, illegal aliens, and Denver would
provide easily obtained evidence that tens of thousands of illegal
aliens chose Denver as their target city to colonize along with evidence
that Denver's mayor and City Council took $75,000,000.00 out of their
budget to house, feed and provide monetary support to the illegal alien newcomers. I would venture to assert that Denver's mayor expected Kamala
Harris to win the 2024 election and continue providing grants to Denver
to socialize the costs of the illegals while privatizing the profits for "employers" who got cheap labor by hiring Third World invaders rather
than American citizens. Their assumptions failed to materialize when
Trump won the election and stopped federal funding to sanctuary cities
like Denver. That's my assertion, as you insist on calling it. You can
stamp your feet until you're blue in the face and play "fact checker,"
but deep in your heart you know Denver is laying off employees and
coming up short in their budget by a quarter billion dollars because
their idiot mayor and City Council massively screwed up just like
Democrat mayors and city councils in San Diego, San Francisco, Chicago,
New York, Los Angeles, Albuquerque, Dallas, and on and on and on. If you
choose not to believe the assertions I have made, so be it. I don't care.

They're the contemporary version of the American Indians who brought
food and shared their knowledge of how to survive off the land to the
Pilgrims or who welcomed Cortez as some prophesied god or greeted
Christopher Columbus. The "Indians" should have either killed the first European "newcomers" upon arrival or killed the libtards among
    themselves who welcomed the "migrants."

    This assertion?

"Layoffs, furloughs coming for Denver employees after tens of millions
spent to house Joe Biden's invaders"

What evidence is lacking per the assertion? Is the mayor lying? Is the
Denver Post lying? Did the city of Denver not spend tens of millions of
dollars to house Joe Biden's invaders? Is the city of Denver not short
now a quarter billion dollars and therefore furloughing workers? Is the
chronological order wrong in respect to Biden's invaders being brought
to Denver and Denver spending tens of millions of dollars to aid and
abet their colonization of Denver and following that the city of Denver
is in the red to the tune of a quarter billion dollars? Inquiring minds

ran it where everything is considered a lie until some Soros controlled "fact checker" tells you Kamalatards what is or is not "trusted". Real
men don't need to look to some billionaire owned company that originated from DARPA for a reality check. Of course you do. We get it. We don't
want you as a self-appointed fact checker slash gatekeeper on usenet.

    I'm not a self-appointed anything.

I'm just commenting on an obvious fact:

You've accepted without evidence the assertion that Denver's money
    issues are due to migrants.

Have you been to Denver? I live 2 hours from there. He's
    right.

    Nope.

I only have to point to the posts you've made and the utter lack of
    any supporting information.

You've completely failed in that regard.
So where is your support for your assertion?

It's in Denver's $250,000,000.00 budget shortfall, which is well
    documented in my previous posts.
    Nope.

There is nothing in any previous post supporting your ASSERTION that's
it's due to migrants, legal or illegal.

It's clear you are willing to invest lots of hours on a beautiful Sunday afternoon attempting to provide cover for pro-illegal alien Democrat
mayors like Mike Johnston while attempting to sugar coat the impact of Biden-imported foreign criminal gang members as per Tren de Aragua and
MS-13. Different strokes for different folks, as the old trope goes.

Wasting tens of millions of taxpayer dollars to welcome Third World
invaders, including providing them housing and other benefits has proved
to be just the ticket to turn Denver into a Third World failed city.
Crime has reached levels formerly seen only in cities like Tijuana,
    Porto Prince, or Johannesburg.

    https://www.denverpost.com/2025/05/22/denver-employee-layoffs-furloughs/

In an exclusive interview with The Denver Post ahead of the
announcement, Johnston said the constraints couldn’t be addressed with
small adjustments like saying, “Let’s buy fewer pencils.”

[Or let's provide less taxpayer money to illegal aliens]

“These are structural problems,” he said.

Denver will collect $50 million less in tax revenue than expected this
year, triggering some immediate cost-saving measures like the hiring
freeze and limiting any unnecessary staff spending.

[It appears that all those illegal aliens working off the books and not
paying taxes has consequences, eh Mayor Johnston? How does it feel to be
at the helm as you turn the Mile High City into Nuevo Havana?]
