The Senate blocked an effort Friday to prevent President
Trump from taking future military action against Iran
without authorization from Congress, less than a week
after he directed strikes aimed at the country’s nuclear
    capabilities.

Senators voted 47-53 largely along party lines against
    the war powers resolution.

Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) was the lone GOP lawmaker to vote
with Democrats. Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.), an ardent
backer of Israel, voted with Republicans.

    . . .

Gee ... it was a-OK when Clinton and Obama attacked
    trouble spots ...... :-)

In any case, this is not 1790 anymore where everything
was Way Over There and you could indulge months of
debate before doing anything against serious enemies.
As such, at least limited actions must be delegated
to ONE person - the C&C. The Executive branch CAN
act quickly and smartly enough to make a difference.

The WPA does not give presidents unlimited latitude
without any questions. However it IS a concession
to modern military realities. "Way Over There" is
like 25 MINUTES by ICBM, 12 hours or less by bomber ...
think you can even FIND all of Congress at their
cocktail parties and hotel rooms with their
    leather-clad mistress's in that time span ???
Sorry, the Redcoats aren't coming on sailing
    ships and horses.

Clinton did it to avoid impeachment for lying about a blowjob.

Democrats just got a taste of their own medicine spiked with reality.
