John Fisher, 31, of East Prairie, Missouri, used brass knuckles to
break the front door of the home of Austin Glastetter.
Glastetter warned Fisher that he was armed, but Fisher reportedly
defiantly told him, "You'll have to kill me," the outlet said, citing deputies.
Fearing for his life, Glastetter fired four shots, all of which struck Fisher, the Scott County Sheriff's department said in a statement.
Fisher died from the bullet wounds, authorities said.
There's no sense shooting if you don't mean it. Well done!
"The homeowner's actions appear to have been justified in defense of themselves and their household. The safety and protection of one's
home is a fundamental right," Sheriff Derick Wheetley said in a
statement.
Not a single incidence of self defense with a gun has ever been
