President Donald Trump has signed an executive order requiring
US banks not to refuse financial services to anyone due to
their political or religious views.
The move comes after Trump revealed earlier this week that
JP Morgan Chase and the Bank of America refused to take his
deposits during his first term in the White House.
Trump's executive order noted that certain financial institutions
were involved in "government-directed surveillance programs"
against conservatives in the aftermath of January 6.
. . .
Good.
But an XO is only good for a few years max.
This needs to be made into a federal LAW, neatly
entangled with some other stuff the lefties will
not dare to tamper with. Sooner is better.
The govt attempt to 'de-bank' its rivals was
especially insidious. Let us have no repeats,
even if Trump wants to do it. The underlying
financial infrastructure must remain clean
and strong for the sake of all.
