• It might start there (DC)...but that's not where it will end.

"Pretty soon, you won't have a country anymore"

'President Donald Trump announced Monday he was putting the Washington,
D.C. police department under federal control and deploying National
Guard on the streets of the nation's capitol, a striking move taken over
the objections of local leaders, who say Trump is exaggerating the
    city's crime problems.'

    <https://time.com/7308788/trump-washington-dc-national-guard/?itm_source=parsely-api>

'Data show that violent crime in the nation’s capital is down
significantly from a peak in 2023. But Trump paints a different picture.
Trump described Washington as “one of the most dangerous cities anywhere
in the World” in a post on Truth Social Saturday. On Sunday, Trump
wrote, “I’m going to make our Capital safer and more beautiful than it
ever was before. The Homeless have to move out, IMMEDIATELY. We will
give you places to stay, but FAR from the Capital.”'

And I'm sure you'll want to nitpick the source of that statement about
crime levels, so here's the DoJ on the subject:

'Violent Crime in D.C. Hits 30 Year Low

WASHINGTON - Total violent crime for 2024 in the District of Columbia is
down 35% from 2023 and is the lowest it has been in over 30 years,
according to data collected by the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD)
and announced by United States Attorney Matthew M. Graves. A breakdown
of the data is available here.

In addition to the overall violent crime reduction, homicides are down
32%; robberies are down 39%; armed carjackings are down 53%; assaults
with a dangerous weapon are down 27% when compared with 2023 levels,
with the District reporting the fewest assaults with dangerous weapons
and burglaries in over 30 years.'

Oh, and in case you're going to claim that this is only about DC:

'Trump is launching a rare expansion of presidential authority over
local government, and said he would not stop with the nation’s capital.
In addition to Washington, Trump also mentioned other major cities where
he wants to put the police under federal control, including New York
City, Baltimore, and Oakland. “They're so far gone," Trump said about
those cities. “This will go further. We’re starting very strongly with D.C."'

    Enjoy your police state, MAGAts.

Even assuming that's true, aren't you just avoiding having to say that
it's wrong for Trump to take over the DC police force?

That's it's wrong for him to say he'll do it in other cities?

Come on, brave guy: you're the one who's always saying how independently
    you think!

But here you are snipping a lot of content and attempting to justify the unjustifiable.

It has nothing to do with being "brave" as you call it. I am simply stating
the facts regarding crime reporting in the US and DC is hardly the only
major city that has been fudging the numbers.
    Nothing more and nothing less.

    1. No. You were only talking about DC crime reporting.

    2. You ducked the larger picture.

    3. You're not preemptively justifying when Trump attempts to do this in
    other cities.

    Enjoy your police state, MAGAt.
