Pakistan's military chief allegedly warned that the nuclear nation
would 'take half the world down with us' should it face an
    existential threat from India.

Field Marshal Asim Munir is said to have told attendees of a
black-tie dinner in Florida on Saturday: 'We are a nuclear
nation. If we think we are going down, we'll take half the
    world down with us'.

According to ThePrint, an Indian news outlet that reported
the remarks, Munir also told dinner guests that Pakistan was
willing to destroy India's water infrastructure: 'We will
wait for India to build a dam, and when it does so, we will
    destroy it with 10 missiles.

    . . .

Wow ! That's pretty extreme talk for a high official.

I don't think Pakistan has enough nukes to take down
half the world ... but they have enough to cause MASS
MASS casualties - direct and indirect - in India. The
population density and shoestring food/water situation
    ensure that.

Such threats may be *implied*, but it is undiplomatic
to straight-out SPEAK them. Then the other side has
to say the same right back and ...

India can and would similarly obliterate Pakistan.

Fallout would drift all around, including into China
and maybe parts of Russia. Hiroshima might get another
    dusting ...

STILL think that if there's a nukewar, it will be
between those two countries. Extremely bad blood
between them for a long time - and they tend to
think of nukes as "just bigger bombs" instead of
    anything special.

IF it all goes to hell it'd be a good object lesson
for the rest of the world about why you don't play
    around with nuclear weapons.

In any case, General Munir should not be invited
    back to the USA again.
