New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham has declared a state of emergency
in Rio Arriba County, Española, and nearby Pueblos due to ongoing
challenges curbing violent crime and drug trafficking. The order, which
may include National Guard deployment, authorizes up to $750,000 for the
state emergency management department. Critics condemned the move as inconsistent with her past remarks regarding President Donald Trump's
    federal guard deployments.

Grisham previously stated, "His deployment of 800 National Guard troops
to Washington, D.C., without local request or coordination demonstrates
a fundamental misunderstanding of effective public safety strategy."

Grisham added, "President Trump’s massive executive overreach in
Washington sets a dangerous precedent and undermines safety in our
    nation’s capital."

Grisham cited a spike in police calls in Española and the county’s high overdose death rate as reasons for intervention. She noted that the
surge has fueled homelessness, family instability, and fatal overdoses.

Grisham said, "When our local leaders called for help to protect their communities, we responded immediately with decisive action."

Española City Councilor Sam LeDoux said, "I am pleased that the governor
is addressing the out-of-control crime in our community. It has long
been overrun and not addressed. Fentanyl has overwhelmed our law
enforcement, and this seems to be a step in the right direction to
    protecting our citizens."

Officials have linked fentanyl trafficking to Rio Arriba County’s
overdose concerns and have said the emergency response will include
efforts to address the opioid crisis. The state has reportedly reached
out to federal partners for coordination.

The order reads, "The surge in criminal activity has contributed to
increased homelessness, family instability and fatal drug overdoses,
placing extraordinary strain on local governments and police departments
that have requested immediate state assistance."

The order adds, "The Adjunct General shall order into service any
elements of the New Mexico National Guard as are or may be needed to
provide military support to civil authorities as needed for this emergency." Michael Davis covers U.S. politics & news for content partner Modern

Make no mistake, the reason trump gets Mexico to turn over the drug bosses is that the wants them to pay him and organize local drug cartels.
    so he, trump controls everything.
He will then export his drugs to Mexico and have them pay for the drugs...
