    I suspect the official release of Blender 4.5 is imminent. The latest Git commit on the blender-v4.5-release branch has changed the version number
    in the build from “rc” (“release candidate”) to actual “release”. All
    that’s missing at this point is a tag for the actual release version.

    That happened within hours. I was putting off upgrading, then when I
    checked the code repo today, a whole bunch of extra bug fixes have
    gone into that branch. Look for a 4.5.1 update sometime soon.
